My Dad's Lineage


Here is the lineage of my dad's side of the family that I was able to find.

Raymond Wade Pope (my father's father; my grandfather)

married Mary Eckerl, no marriage date available; b. Sept. 15, 1899 d. Sept 1979
I never knew my grandfather, but everyone said he was a very nice man. He loved Christmas and his model train set that he put around the Christmas tree every year. He loved his children and was a hard worker. He was an engineer for the B & O Railroad and he and my grandmother and their family lived at 1442 William St. in Baltimore City. I don't know when this picture was taken, but I think he looks pretty spiffy with that hat!

This is my great, great uncle Elmer. He was killed in a train wreck in Dorsey, Maryland in 1937. This newspaper clipping is the original from the News Post, which my dad kept and is now in my possession. Uncle Elmer was the engineer and was thrown up against the firebox, which killed him.
